Let’s get something straight, I AM NOT A BREAKFAST person! Never was never will !! I know not healthy at all However for some reason I woke up at 6 AM and felt super LAZY to do anything! Thought of making myself some breakfast but was too lazy to get out of bed. I decided to order from this pancakes place that I heard so much about Anyway here’s what I got ….

Chicken and waffles – The classical American soul food type breakfast that I heard so much about from my friends in the States had finally arrived! I was very excited yet hectic to try it. I was like “waffles with fried chicken, good or bad combo?” I found out later on that it’s AMAZING! The plain crispy waffles with the crispiness of the mild spicy chicken sticks made a perfect combo. To make it even better there was a white/salty sauce on the side the even all the flavors I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this dish! 9/10

Velvet pancakes – Their stacks of red velvet pancakes where quite fluffy yet thick at the same time. The cream cheese on top didn’t make its way fully to the entire pancakes stack.They usaully get soaked with whatever is on top of them, but these pancakes didn’t. However the taste was incredible! The only thing that I would do differently is to slather a layer of cream cheese in between each pancake HIGHLY RECCOMENED 9/10

My overall experience was quite pleasant I will be defiantly trying their other dishes very soon. I would probably give them a visit next week If their DELIVERD breakfast was that good can you imagine how good it is when it comes straight from the kitchen? Stacks I’m coming back

Review: UBON Contemporary Thai Bistro

I was invited a couple of days ago to review “UBON” a new Thai bistro located in Salhiya.I was very apprehensive to if I would like it or not. I never tried Thai cusine,mostly Japanese and Chinese. So I had no idea what was in store for me .. Anyway we arrived to UBON at 8PM.It was quite crowded Mashalah with a very simple/modern design with paper elephants hanging from the lighting

With so many options to choose from we had the waiter recommend their best sellers! Here’s what we got …

My Lemon juice

Green Papaya Salad – green papaya mixed with carrots and spring beans with a VERY spicy Thai sauce !Even though it was very spicy, every bit you took was full with different flavors:) and the texture was perfect! (8/10)

Ubon Jumbo Prawns- Stir fried jumbo prawns topped with air dried garlic Each prawn was moist and full of falvour.The sauce was a bit sweet but definitely made it taste better (7/10)

Satay Sticks – Chicken and beef served with Ubon’s peanut sauce This was one of my favorite dishes! The chicken/beef was tender with a hint of salt and the sauce was rich and sweet I highly recommend this dish! (10/10)

Lemon garlic shrimps – stir fried shrimps with chopped mushrooms and a very sour/sweet lemon garlic sauce it’s basically like shrimp popcorn but was soaked with the sauce it had. It’s defiantly one of my favorite comfort foods I loved the Thai twist it had. (9/10)

Chickem Greem Curry -It’s basically a stew of green chili,herbs,spices and sweet basil with coconut cream.It came with a side of rice I’m not a big fan of rice but I wanted to give it a try.The curry had so many flavors combined that it was hard to distinguish one from the other Even though it wasn’t a favorite of mine, my friend Hussain thought it tasted AMAZING ( he’s a rice lover! ) (7/10)

And finally for dessert my PASSIOn,my LOVE PUMPKIN CAKE! I wish they had more dessert options. Other dishes seemed new and I didn’t want to risk it you’re always safe with a pumpkin cake …

وصلني دعوة لحضور الافتتاح الرسمي حق ذا شوكلت كافيه في مشرف اول ما دخلت استقبلوني اصحاب الكافيه الاستاذ يوسف الصباح و مها العمر المكان كان ماشالله زحمه بحضور المدونين و اصدقاء اصحاب الكافيه طبعا لفت انتباهي طريقة تقديم المنتجات بلكافيه كانت وايد حلوه و مميزه خصوصا انهم استخدمو استاندات و ورد لابراز جمال الكب كيك و الكيك … بعد ما حلينه و شربنه عطو كل شخص غرشه صغيره داخلها مني كوكيز و ترافل .. الصراحه الترفل كان خطيييير جدا جدا لول اخليكم مع بعض الصور و الي حاب يشوف تقيمي عن اطباقهم يقدر يدش على الموضوع القديم الي كتبته ..

After a huge dinner with a friend of mine my sweet tooth was craving brownies! My friend thought it was a bad idea since we were blotted with sushi Regardless to what he thought I need my brownie with vanilla ice cream on the side :P After contemplating for 30 minutes we deiced to go with something new! I have been hearing about this new café called “The Chocolate Café” located in Mishref… So we headed over there

The cafe offers a wide variety of cakes,macroons,cupcakes,full sized cakes,brownies,hot drinks and SO MUCH more …

So here we GO! We started off with their Pavlova Custard and Berries. The dessert is hard from the outside like a meringue and stuffed with rich ice cream vanilla! The texture was perfect and the mix of berries gave it the kick it needed I personally LOVED IT! 9/10

This dessert wasn’t even on our minds until owner Yousef recommended it to us as one of their best sellers! The very delicious brownie sizzler with ice cream and butterscotch sauce is pure HEAVEN! I haven’t tasted a brownie that was so rich in flavor and super moist. The butterscotch sauce is not a typical sauce used on brownies. We usually go for anything cholactey but I gave it a go and I was very pleased with the result … A definite 10/10

Finally, we went for the chocolate pudding with milk chocolate sauce on the side. The tender pudding was super crunchy from the outside and extremely hot with melted chocolate from the inside! Do I need to say more? I think the picture speaks for itself … a 10/10 without a doubt !!!!

Finally, I would like to thank the owners Yousef and Maha for their warm hospitality and the Unbelievably energetic staff for their tasty recommendations
